The model search begins…
Each year, the Women of KU Swimsuit Calendar will begin looking for co-eds that attend Kansas University, to fill the pages of the new, upcoming year's calendar. We look for girls that are goal-oriented, savvy, pay attention to a certain level of physical fitness, light-hearted and have a sense of humor. After all, it's about having a great time!
What do you look for in a model?
A good model candidate is height and weight appropriate and in good shape. You certainly don't have to be a health nut or work out 3 times a day but, being able to maintain a healthy and steady weight as well as a fit body is a portion of the role. We strive to find the "girl next door" for the calendar each year.
Being a good calendar model candidate means you are naturally photogenic in front of the camera, also. It is a tough choice for us sometimes but, it helps your chances if you can create images that are visually appealing, aren't shy when the camera is on you, etc. – after all, that's why it is called modeling. :)
As a Women of KU Swimsuit Model, you should be a good communicator and professional. You will interact with the public and your adoring fans many times (a lot, actually) throughout the year and no one likes a diva with a bad attitude, someone who is always late, etc. Having an inflated ego or chip on your shoulder is the fastest way to be passed over by the calendar.
Someone who has great people skills would sum it up! :)
Being humble and having humility is a sexy personality trait for a model to own!
